UPSC Civil Services Examination
Conducted by the Union Public Service Commission to recruit officers for the IAS, IPS, IFS and other central services. It runs in three stages — Preliminary (objective), Main (descriptive) and Interview — spread across roughly a year.
- ✓Prelims: General Studies + CSAT
- ✓Mains: 9 descriptive papers including an optional subject
- ✓Interview: Personality Test before the final merit list
Joint Entrance Examination (Main & Advanced)
The gateway to India's top engineering institutes. JEE Main is held in two sessions and qualifies students for NITs, IIITs and other centrally funded institutes, as well as eligibility for JEE Advanced, which is the sole entrance test for the IITs.
- ✓JEE Main: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics — objective + numerical
- ✓JEE Advanced: Higher difficulty, only for top JEE Main scorers
- ✓Held over two sessions (January & April) for JEE Main
National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG)
The single entrance exam for admission to MBBS, BDS and other undergraduate medical courses across India, conducted by the National Testing Agency.
- ✓Physics, Chemistry & Biology (Botany + Zoology)
- ✓Single national-level exam, held once a year
- ✓Merit-based counselling for government and private medical seats
